Starting today: In order to keep our younger blogTV users safer, anyone who is 15 years of age or younger will not be able to broadcast. This new policy will continue until we have the proper tools to deal with the problems that arise. 15's and under will still, however, be able to create a blogTV profile, watch other shows and participate in the chat. Everyone else, 16 and over, will of course be able to broadcast as usual, as well as chat in other shows. We apologize to everyone who is age 15 and under because we have seen fantastic talent from all of you, but due to the amount of inappropriate behavior by your adult viewers, we must take these measures to protect you.

Finally! I'm sorry, but I was completely fine with the idea of 16 or older being able to broadcast, but the sudden change of having it to 13 or older shocked me. I'm glad you've taken these measures of protecting these kids, and changed the broadcasting age again.

So BlogTV is now an adult site.
Posted by: ant | November 26, 2008 at 11:38 AM
I don't think that is right 13,14, and 15 years old's should be able to have live show and we should be able to choose who is in the show we do,But how do u think it will take to change back to 13 and older???
Posted by: Tay | November 26, 2008 at 12:44 PM
this is so stupid!!!!! we have good shows and we are teenagers! dont treat us like we are 5 year olds
Posted by: someone | November 26, 2008 at 01:39 PM
I hope they have a way to get them off of broadcasting because they are still broadcasting right now.
Posted by: Jane1963 | November 26, 2008 at 02:03 PM
the pervs over r getting the younger users banned. its not fair. the 13 to 15 year olds are going to rise up and take over blogtv from the pervs that are having them banned. lower the age again and banned the pervs that are having the younger users banned!! there is a petition thats going on blogtv and blogtv will lose most of its users!!!

This is so unfair. To punish the 15 year old & younger members because of some pervert adults. I understand your security reasons, but there ARE some sane 13-15 year olds out there, and some sane adults for that matter. There should be more moderators employed by this site to ensure that inappropriate behavior is not being tolerated from members of any age, and 15 year olds and younger members should be afforded the freedom of expression that they deserve!
From a business standpoint, it's also not a good move. If members are dissatisfied here, they will find somewhere else to go. I hope the decision makers on blogtv get a chance to read my comment, and that they decide to take immediate action to rectify this insult to 'free' media.

You know, I just wish there was some way around this. Some way to prove that even if you are 15 and younger, that you aren't an idiot. Because I know that I'm not an idiot. All in all, I'm pretty distraught about this. It probably wouldn't be good to lie about my age, huh?
Posted by: Reubnick | November 26, 2008 at 02:41 PM
To Ryan
I am sorry for your disappointment, but it wasn't just the adult inappropriate behavior that was going on. The children were inappropriate on cam as well. That makes it even more dangerous for you broadcast. This is the best decision for now, and it IS for YOUR protection.

This policy of banning 13-15yr olds from broadcasting is so unfair,i understand the reason behind it but its not this age group thats the problem, its sick perverted adults that are the cause of the problem.I can only hope the proper tools are implement soon so talented 13-15yr olds can once again broadcast and sick adults are permanatly banned from this site :-(

it's the ones that flag and report that are the pervs to the 13 to 15 year olds. they gang up on there talk dirty and bug them about their ages then flag the broadcasters. blogtv has thousands and thousands on 13 to 15 year users and blogtv will go down without them with this dicrimination to them. it's a hate crime to them. there will be a lawsuit if the age is not lowered again.

those who are happy for the change are the troublemakers that harrass them and they are the ones that should be banned. there is a lawsuit in the works.

Please lower the age because i really loved broadcasting ..this really has shocked me .. however i understand that there its lots of adult viewers behaviour is quite hideous ...
I really hope you can sort out some sort of idea were people under 16 have a age restriction ..
Like only 16-20 year old can view this show perhaps?
or maybe have for moderators maybe for the site so they can check frequently if any inappropriate behaviour is taking place?
Blog tv please read this and maybe understand from people in my situation that love broadcasting to their on-line friends
Love from Mush-mush Aka Lou

There isn't much difference between 13 and 16, they are still minors and if the adult content is what is in question here then that is what needs to be addressed. The heavy drug use being done in certain blogs and the promotion of drug use also needs to be addressed. The perverts will never be stopped but raising the age to 16 solves absolutely nothing, this will only go back to the minor broadcasters once again lying about their ages to be able to broadcast. If blogtv truely wants to protect minors the minimum age should be 18.

I understand where blogtv is coming from, but wouldn't an easier thing be banning accounts that are known to behave inappropriately while watching young teenage shows? It shouldn't be age for broadcasting, it should be how well you can handle broadcasting and chatting. (If you decide to do something stupid it is your fault and you should be punished.) So yeah, I don't think that having an age restriction put in was the best idea, hopefully blogtv sorts all of this out soon. :)

THANK GOD!

Here we have a situation of the few ruining it for the majority.
The blame lies absolutely with Blog TV as they should have had more moderators in place - their response times to flags was simply appalling. With every cam site you are going to get the pervs, that is fact and wont be changed anytime soon and it isn't rickat science to realise this. Stop allowing guests to enter the rooms completely - allow only registered users to enter, abusers are then easier to track and monitor - employ more mods and lower the age back down to at least 14.
see ya all at Justin and Stickam.
