WHAT DO I NEED FOR A SUCCESSFUL BROADCAST?
- A good quality cam and mic: Before a show, do a test run to make sure your equipment is working properly and always ask your viewers for feedback on the sound and cam quality.
- Good lighting: Always broadcast from well-lit surroundings and experiment with different lighting to see what works best.
- Content: Can include music, live performances, special skills, interviews, debates, tutorials, games or just good conversation. What do you have to offer to your viewers? Be creative!
- Know the rules of the site: Do not broadcast nudity, sex, copyrighted material, or if you are under the age requirement.
WHEN & WHERE SHOULD I BROADCAST?
Broadcast whenever you are available to chat and have access to a camera. You can choose to keep regularly scheduled broadcasts or just start an impromptu show whenever is comfortable for you. Keep your show indoors or broadcast trips and special events via a laptop or mobile broadcast. We've seen broadcasts from home, school, work, music concerts, nature outings, weddings - the possibilities are endless. Be creative, be open to new ideas and have fun.
HOW CAN I KEEP PEOPLE IN MY SHOW?
- Interact with your viewers, keep up with the chat, greet them when they join, say their names when you talk to them, ask them questions, answer theirs, create polls ("Where is the most interesting place you've been to").
- Be expressive, be active! Don't just sit there and type.
- Keep occasional eye contact with your viewers by looking directly into the camera.
- Post the current topic into the Chat Title and update it when necessary, so that newcomers can follow the discussion quickly.
- Make your show more dynamic by moving the broadcast to another room, changing something in the background, or changing the angle of the camera.
- Do what you do best, and keep it real. Don't try to copy other broadcasters or pretend to be something you're not.
- Welcome guests. They make your show more popular and may be future registered users on your show.
- Add extra effects your broadcast with software such as Manycam, CamTwist and Webcammax.
- Practice, practice practice. Invest time in your shows and learn from experience on how to improve.
HOW CAN I ENSURE RETURNING VISITS TO MY SHOW?
- Broadcast regularly and let users know when your next broadcast will be.
- Encourage viewers to subscribe so that they will get an alert whenever you go live.
- Encourage viewers to follow you at other social networks and promote your shows there.
- Add your viewers as friends and send a message to your friends before broadcasting.
- Use the schedule feature in your show page: Click on "Add" (beneath the show info on the left side of the profile page) then the schedule box will pop up. From there you can fill in which day and time you plan on broadcasting a regular show.
