Finally a ranking system that makes sense! You may have noticed very recently that your shows are looking a bit more loved. We have deconstructed the old wacky averaging formula and implanted the correct formula. Also now available, is the number of people who rated your show. Just hover the mouse over your golden stars and the number of people who rated you will appear.
Now you really can have a 5 star show! Shine away!

In other news we have a new and improved search feature that makes much more sense and provides lots of fun and useful ways of finding exactly what you want. For example:
Let's say we are searching for something with 'blue' in the title. The search breaks it down into three sections: SHOWS with the word 'blue' in the show title, VIDEOS with the word 'blue' in the video title and PEOPLE with the word 'blue' in the username.

Suggested (chat friendly) Games: Pictionary Host will invite a co-host and send the clue over the PM Co-host will try to draw the clue on paper and show the chatters Which ever chatter guesses the clue correctly first will win the round

Name that tune Host will play a part of a song after giving a theme or clue Which ever chatter types in the name of the song and/or the artist first will win the round

Charades Host will invite a co-host and send the clue over the PM Co-host will try to act out the clue Which ever chatter guesses the clue correctly first will win the round The co-host should not use any words or sounds unless the host thinks it's too hard and suggests a clue for the chatters

Trivia Host will name a theme (i.e. science, sex, food, animals) and ask a trivia question The first chatter to type in the correct answer wins * Great trivia questions are easy to find for the host but PLEASE don’t Google the answers, it just takes all the fun out of it

Crazy anagrams Host will post a series of random letters In the chat he/she will type round 1. Chatters will have a certain amount of time (decided by the host) to come up with a word/s using those letters The host will give the chatter with the most valid words a point for that round * This game can also be given themes in which chatters will have to come up with a word/s that pertains to a particular theme set by the host, making the challenge a bit more difficult.

Create a Phrase Host will post a series of letters ranging from 2 all the way to 7 In the chat he/she will type round 1. Chatters will have a certain amount of time (decided by the host) to come up with a phrase or sentence using the letters provided as the first letter in each word When the round is over, the host will read the username of the chatters who played out loud and everyone will vote whose phrase they liked best.

Mad Gab Game Your team has 30 seconds to solve three word puzzles. Example: Puzzle: Amen Ask Hurt. Answer: "a mini skirt!" Get two more within the time limit and you get a point. But beware: if you miss, the other team has a chance to steal! The first team to get 25 points wins the game.

IFC Covers New York Film Festival on blogTV - Starts Friday!

Our favorite movie channel, IFC will be broadcasting a daily LIVE show with Q&A, covering The New York Film Festival, on blogTV!

Get your questions ready because this year's festival opens up with Wes Anderson's newest film, The Darjeeling Limited, which stars Owen Wilson (keep your cheap suicide shots to yourself), Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman. Not convinced yet? For NYFF's 25th anniversary salute, they're screening Blade Runner: The Final Cut (yes!) and holding a science fiction discussion panel, "The Future Is Now," with oh so prominent film scholars.

The future IS now my friends, and the film fun starts on blogTV this Friday, Sept. 28, at 1PM EST.

Today is a big day. We not only launched our new home page, we also launched our blogTV application on Facebook. This means that you can broadcast yourself LIVE on blogTV, straight from your Facebook profile!

Welcome to our new home page!

There's something different about blogTV…
No, we didn't get a haircut… We unveiled our new and improved home page!
Check out this new layout. It was created especially for promoting your talent and featuring your shows!

I want to point out a few things, so follow the tour below and learn how to get your show featured.

TOUR OF NEW HOMEPAGE:
1) You'll notice we have a big new FEATURED LIVE SHOWS box in the top left corner. This box will feature those of you who are talking, having fun and generally being entertaining. The smaller live show boxes to its side, display either still images or show logos until the show is actually entered.

2) Underneath the 'live shows' area you will see the NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS (which is perhaps how you found your way to this blog). This area will always attempt to keep you informed with blogTV news and well… announcements.

3) Now, here's the newest part of all. Center-Left we have this new section called UPCOMING. In this spot we will display all the upcoming shows which have a schedule. So, if you haven't made a schedule for your show yet, do it now (click "My Shows" then "Schedule," then "Add")!

4) Center-Right, check out the FEATURED SHOWS. This is our special promotion area which displays banner ads for blogTV shows we think deserve recognition.

5) Bottom-Left corner is dedicated to all the RECORDED SHOWS. This section is pretty much the same as before. We display the "Featured" recorded shows (which are hand picked by blogTV) and underneath is the appropriately named "Most Viewed" recorded shows; a section that was formerly named "Top Recorded."

6) The Bottom-Right corner is left for all of blogTV's NEW STUFF. When ever we add a new feature to our site or have an event we'd like to initiate, you may find it displayed in this section.

getting ready to launch...

So... blogTV is getting ready to launch the .com.
Our blogTV will be a website made especially for broadcasting yourself live and chatting with your viewers. It's a unique platform for live video blogging, entertaining, informing, etc... ie: chatting, dancing, singing, cooking, anythinging live!
(side note: I'm dying for a live cooking show!)
Broadcasting will be a really simple process; all you'll have to do is plug in your webcam and click "broadcast now."

We're working very hard on ironing out any possible annoying glitches so the end product will be a clean and simple website which anyone and their grandma (with a webcam) can easily use to communicate with the rest of the world. We're hoping this will intrigue everyone into trying blogTV.com at least once (then get hooked).

I think this is going to be amazing!
